2021 and the lessons it taught!

Like every year I get into introspection mode and it’s that time of the year now when 2021 is almost on its way to bid us farewell. The lessons that I learnt this year are gratitude, self-loveand de-clutter. I have felt the déjà vu and immense gratitude to the people I’ve metall through the year. The people who taught me self-worth and whose words have had a great impact; these are also the people I cherish. I know I shall meet many more. I have the good fortune to reach out to many though my blogs and columns, so using them to share my gratitude with the universe.I am often asked why I focus so much on positivity as it may be quite aloof from reality. I agree to that but I believe in the power of optimism, the more you focus on something the more of it comes to you. So why not let positivity, happiness, hope and abundance be in our lives instead of just the harsh realities that we anyway have to deal with. I believe it’s the people who make the difference and we must count them as ‘Our’ blessings. It is rightly said, ‘Make your today so awesome that yesterday gets jealous’ but never forget that yesterday was the ‘today’ once upon a time.

Gratitude has the greatest power

“Silent gratitude isn’t much use to anyone.” -Gertrude Stein

We are still in the pandemic and the last two years have been tough to say the least. We may have hundreds of reasons to be grumpy but there will always be one big reason to be grateful about. That one reason which encompasses everything else makes things truly worthwhile. Find that one reason; it won’t be difficult just look within. Haven’t we learnt that being alive and enjoying good health have been reasons enough to be grateful about for so many of us?

We took a pause but continued to innovate and discover newer ways of doing things. Sustaining life and carryout our work; in the process educating ourselves all through. Some resources reached us from unexpected quarters giving us reasons to smile and carry on. We have acquired resilience that we really didn’t know existed. It has been more of recounting on the best moments and rejoicing in them. Also Looking at things that helped the year to be awesome! With regards to my degree of anticipation and expectations; they are never too high, guess have learnt to keep them achievable and enjoyable. There cannot be any other power than that of being in gratitude.

Self – lovewith a vengeance

Most of us are harsh with ourselves, we have too high expectations and have set yardsticks that are difficult to achieve. We also tend to compare ourselves with others and end up being disappointed with our achievements. Each person has a different path and journey that we may have no clue of then why is the comparison even there. We all need to love ourselves for what we are rather than what we want ourselves to be or what others want us to be. The moment we get into the self-love mode we end up rediscovering ourselves and sometimes it may be completely a surprise package. Self-love is all about appreciating oneself and it grows from actions that support our physical, psychological and spiritual growth. It involves taking care of your own needs and having a high regard for your own well being and happiness. It’s time to indulge in self- love if you haven’t consciously done it; and make it a way of life.

De- clutter like never before

It is said that to create what you want in your life or for prosperity you need to clear clutter. It should startin your mind, your homeand then the surroundings as clutter creates confusion. One must clear away what’s blocking him from prosperity in his conscious mind, sub conscious mind and the physical environment. Mental clutter creates toxic beliefs and leads to bad relationships. It does more harm than we can ever imagine. We must get rid of things that we don’t want that’s the first step in the process of de cluttering. We need to begin somewhere and carry it out in phases. The happiness and positivity that it generates is truly incredible.

May the year leave some fine impressions and make way for hope, happiness and prosperity for all in the coming year.
