We all strive to make that ‘mark’ for ourselves but we have a limited time to do so. We are gifted with 24 hours each day to do at least one remarkable thing. If we don’t do it we may miss what really counts. Nature does it perfectly; everything is so well planned and synchronized. The sun rises in the east each day and sets on the west; this pattern doesn’t change though the time might be adjusted for our convenience. Similarly rivers continue to flow, wind blows and plants grow. All elements of nature appear in their true glory following their patterns. Each one of them as magnificent as they can be!. Can we learn our lessons from nature; become great at something or showcase our innate talents to become the best in the game.
We are bestowed with great capabilities; we only need to stop self doubts or limiting beliefs. Our capabilities should give us the confidence to rise and shine like the sun! As people we need to find our place and keep bettering it. The work we do need to be meaningful be it either at home or at our workplaces. All this requires us to develop specialised competencies and put them into action so that we become masters in your crafts. We must remember that only well planned practices will lead to perfection. If one must get busy then it should only be to achieve winning outcomes; not otherwise. We must refrain from overpromising but deliver more than what we promise; this helps in building credibility. Another skill we can develop to make our mark is by learning at least one other language than the mother tongue or the official language.
It all begins with developing the right attitude, remaining positive and having a growth mindset. Here are a few pointers to manage ourselves and make that mark:
Be gritty and resilient – This is the biggest virtue we have that can shield us in any battle that is either within us or on the outside.
Have enormous self belief- Trusting us to be able to do anything and believing in our capabilities is clearly a non negotiable.
Develop winning habits– They help transform any adversity into victory.
Be calm and composed – Keeping the mind in control is the greatest strength that one can develop.
Focus on planning: Plan a brilliant schedule each day and follow it. Time is precious – ours or that of others; value it.
Don’t be afraid to make mistakes: Make mistakes but don’t repeat the same ones. You learn only by trying.
Be unique by developing unique skill sets: Do things that technology cannot; find your niche.
Build good relations with others: Good communication is the key to good relationships. Listen to people to understand them and not to just react. Be non judgemental.
Invest in yourself: Investing in self is the best investment; something that contributes to the wellbeing of your mind, body, soul and the intellect.
Value smart work: Smart work eventually delivers smart results. Hard work is good only when it is channelised to deliver favourable outcomes.
